Week 3 - Final Layout and Unreal Testing (05/02/2024)

Before I began my refined sketch tracing over the blockout model, I made some minor tweaks to my model such as changing the colour of the fabric to be clearer as well as adding curved roofs in-between the ground and first floor to give the thread rolls somewhere to slot into and be supported (instead of just being awkwardly suspended)




I drew the refined sketch to better flesh out and reflect my final design for my textiles shop, before then labelling all the separate modular components for when it comes to modelling all of it. I also made major overhauls to the windows and fences in the final sketch as the initial designs didn’t

look much akin to Victorian architecture.






The practice building I modelled that I then imported into Unreal helped me understand ways to reduce poly counts (like deleting polys that become invisible inside another part of the model), along with giving me a rough idea of how the final model will be shaded and lit.
